Community Relations Coordinator
Position Summary: This is a part-time (30 hours/week) position with benefits. The Community Relations Coordinator plays a key role in fostering strong connections between our organization and the communities we serve on the peninsula. Reporting to the Community Relations Manager, the CRC is responsible for implementing strategies that align with our business goals to build positive relationships with the community. Additionally, this role will manage the Williamsburg office with set on-site office hours.
Job Duties:
- Identify, build, and nurture partnerships with local organizations, community leaders, and stakeholders to enhance collaboration and mutual support.
- Represent the organization at community forums, meetings, and events building strong relationships and fostering a positive presence.
- Collaborate with internal teams to integrate community perspectives into decision-making processes.
- Manage the Williamsburg office with dedicated office hours to provide community and member assistance.
- Coordinate activities to achieve project goals in collaboration with Community Relations manager and Major Gifts officer.
- Prepare regular reports on community engagement activities, outcomes, and areas for improvement.
- Plan community relations events and meetings that position WHRO as a valuable community asset.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Skills/Abilities:
- This role requires a positive, outgoing individual who loves engaging with people and thrives in a team environment.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and oversee diverse projects simultaneously to ensure that all are delivered to high quality, on time and on budget.
Preferred Education: Associate’s degree or equivalent
Preferred Experience: Five years experience in community relations
Additional Preferred Qualifications: Professional connections in the Williamsburg, VA area.
