Beyond Winter Blues: Understanding Seasonal Affective Disorder
Monday, December 15, 2025 (2:00 PM - 3:00 PM) (EST)
Description
December is designated as Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) Awareness Month. Come join us for a special presentation, ”The Science Behind the Seasons — Understanding Seasonal Affective Disorder.” Hosted by Brookdale at Home® and featuring local outreach partner Colonial Behavioral Health, join presenters Jessica Furiness and Tiffany Perry to learn about the challenges of seasonal depression and methods of support to better understand this common fall and winter condition. Please note that due to the holidays, the Grief & Bereavement Support Group and the Dementia & Alzheimer’s Support Group will not meet on their regular schedule. Support Group Attendees are encouraged to attend this presentation instead, as Seasonal Affective Disorder can compound the sense of loss, grief and care challenges they may be navigating, particularly during the holidays. Regular monthly meetings will resume in January. Following the presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to connect and chat.
