Bike Walk Williamsburg, a 501(C)3 Non-Profit organization located in Williamsburg, VA is seeking an Executive Director.  Since its founding in 2012, BWW has been an advocate for safer roads, sidewalks, trails and infrastructure to promote safer muti-modal travel in the region.  The Bicycle CoOp (BCOW), the major project of BWW, was established in 2021 to provide bikes to those in need in our community and region.  Since its inception BCOW has distributed more than 4000 bikes into our community.

The Executive Director (ED) position at BWW is a dynamic role, promoting our mission to Williamsburg and the region.  The ED will take an active role in fundraising, grants, major gifts and advocacy to local, regional and state officials, as well as cultivating and evolving relationships with major influencers (neighborhoods. corporations, Non-Profits) and thought leaders.

Applicants must have verifiable skill in grant solicitation and execution as well as evident communication and speaking skills.

The Executive Director will interact directly with Board of Directors’ members to pursue public media opportunities, keeping the community informed of our activities, special dates and events on the horizon. The Executive Director will be responsible for creation and output of a monthly newsletter with regional distribution.

The Executive Director will have responsibility for monthly BOD meeting agenda distribution, active participation and follow-on transcripts.

The Executive Director will interact with BWW’s Treasurer to monitor financial trends.

The ED will work closely with the BCOW Manager and be supportive where needed.

This position is a full-time position with appropriate compensation, PTO and a competitive benefits package.
