Williamsburg Boat Club is seeking an energetic, organized, and enthusiastic coach to lead our growing Middle School rowing program.

We're looking for someone who loves working with middle school-aged athletes and wants to make a lasting impact. While rowing experience is a plus, it isn't required. Experience working with young people—as a teacher, coach, camp counselor, or youth leader—is equally valuable.

This is an opportunity to help shape and grow one of Williamsburg Boat Club's most important programs alongside an experienced coaching staff.

What You'll Do

Lead and help organize the Middle School rowing program.

Plan and coach fun, engaging, age-appropriate practices.

Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive team environment.

Communicate with parents and the Executive Director.

Work collaboratively with WBC coaches.

Assist with local regattas, Learn to Row programs, and other club events.

Qualifications

Passion for working with middle school-aged athletes.

Experience working with children in athletics, education, recreation, camps, or similar settings.

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Positive attitude, dependability, and ability to work as part of a coaching team.

Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to the start of employment).

Current SafeSport certification (or willingness to complete prior to the start of employment).

Schedule

Approximately 2-3 afternoons per week during the fall and spring seasons, with additional coaching opportunities available throughout the year.
