For two decades, Community Leadership Service (CLS) has been a catalyst for accomplished individuals ready to embrace life’s next act. Since 2006, CLS has been helping those who are retired or transitioning from full-time careers identify and ignite the next chapter of their lives infused with purpose, impact, and opportunities to give back to the community they call home.

Graduates of CLS are making a lasting difference in Greater Williamsburg. A total of 147 participants have become alumni who continue to enrich the community well beyond the program. Many have stepped into volunteer leadership roles, and alumni are currently serving in more than 30 organizations throughout the region.

As CLS marks its 20th year, the organization is looking ahead to a distinctive 2026 program that will coincide with America’s 250th and Colonial Williamsburg’s 100th anniversaries. The 2026 cohort will enjoy exclusive, behind-the-scenes access to these once-in-a-generation commemorations. The CLS Board is crafting an exceptional and memorable 2026 experience for this milestone class.
